Hi everyone! It’s been three weeks since my last post and in all honesty I have enjoyed not posting. It’s been one less worry on my mind and one less thing I have to think about. I am back with my May Favourites and I’ve got a few posts lined up for the next week or two. I’m still very emotional after the breakup and some days are better than others. I also got sick this month which is probably due to my emotional state and feeling rundown.
Onto this month’s favourites:
1. Chi Chi Opalescent Glow Unicorns & Mermaids Highlighter Palette – It was actually my mum who spotted this palette and convinced me to buy it! The palette contains six, duochrome cream highlighters (white-pink, pink-purple, purple-blue, champagne, blue-green and yellow-green). They glide on and give a beautiful dewy glow. The pigmentation is good and these are definitely buildable, the fact they are cream is less intimidating than if they were powder. I personally like cream products and they work well on my dry skin.
A closer look at the shades in the palette.
2. Kmart Jacquard Fleece Gown – Dressing gowns are not the easiest garments to buy but I’ve been loving this one I picked up on my first trip to Kmart. The material is soft and cuddly and I like the grey colour and pink star pattern. This has been keeping me warm and I will be reaching for it constantly over winter.
3. Olay Complete UV Lotion Sensitive – I have used Simple face moisturiser for a number of years and was curious to see how something else would perform and compare. I’m very cautious about facial moisturisers, parts of my face are dry/sensitive and other parts aren’t. I have heard good things about Olay and the fact this is for sensitive skin and contains SPF drew me in. This contains Vitamins C, E and B3, has a light, non-greasy formula and is non-comedogenic meaning it won’t clog pores. I have used this for a couple of weeks now and upon first impressions my face feels more moistursied and the moisture lasts for a longer amount of time. I’m really happy and hope this continues to work wonders.
4. Body Fleur Sugar Petals Body Lotion – I have had this body lotion for two years and have used it off and on in that time. I used to think my skin reacted with it but I now realise it was a heat rash as I’d often apply this in summer. The scent of this is absolutely delightful, a mixture of fruits, flowers and shea butter. This also contains aloe vera and leaves the skin feeling very soft. The scent lingers all day and if there was a perfume with this scent I would wear it everyday! The lotion itself is a light purple colour which is neat.
5. Sorbent Velvet Tissues – I got six packets of these tissues as a joke present from my mum for my birthday back in January. With being sick and all the crying I’ve been doing over the past month they have been really useful. The tissues are so soft and thicker than most other tissues that come in packs like this.

Glad your back with another post! I hope that you continue to take the time you need for yourself though! That’s what is most important 🙂
The highlighter palette looks really pretty! I’ve been enjoying more cream products lately. For the last week I’ve only been using cream products, from eyeshadow to blush to bronzer. It’s been so much better on my dry skin!

I will continue to take time for myself, I’ve got some time off work coming up soon which will help too!
I haven’t tried all colours in the highlighter palette but they all seem like wearable shades, even the blue – it’ll go nicely with a hot pink lipstick or even my blue lipstick! I see lots of people slam cream products and I don’t know why!

Welcome back Chanelle! A break really can help taking some of that pressure off. That Chichi palette looks nice! I prefer powder products more than cream, but everyone has a different variation that works for them obviously 😀 Here’s hoping that June gets better for you! Take it easy ❤

It’s good to be back temporarily, thanks for the warm welcome Angela! I like powder and cream, I don’t have a strict preference 🙂 here’s hoping for a super June! ♥️

Thanks Jodi! It’s a lovely palette, I feel like the colours would suit most skin tones too, they can be built up or applied with a light hand 🙂

Nice to see you back – 3 weeks just flew by, didn’t it?
I used to use Olay Complete UV Lotion ages ago – not sure if it was the Sensitive formula though. I liked it well enough although the strong fragrance put me off – does the Sensitive formula have a scent?
Aww, those tissues came in handy for the tears and nose blowing, huh? Hope things look up for you as time passes.

The time went fast but I had a bit on my mind.
I can smell a hint of sunscreen but it doesn’t linger and doesn’t irritate my nose, it’s not a strong scent.

Nice picks!
This Olay moisturiser has been my favourite for ages. I love how it feels on the skin and how well it plays with my make-up. And I agree, it’s wonderfully hydrating!
And I must credit this Olay moisturiser for taking care of lines and wrinkles which I’ve had when I was 18 but don’t have now aged 30+.
By the way, I’ve tried the sensitive version but for some reason it broke me out. I went back to the yellow fluid – and my skin was happy again.

Sorry to hear the sensitive Olay moisturiser broke you out but I’m glad the regular one works for you 🙂 I haven’t noticed more breakouts than usual but I will keep what you said in mind in case that changes with time.
