This is the fifth time I have been nominated for a Liebster Award – thank you so much to Ella for nominating me! Facts About Me

Instead of sharing 11 new facts, I am linking to my 50 Random Facts About Me post so you can hopefully learn a ton of things you didn’t already know!

Ella’s Questions:

1.What job did you want to do when you were younger?

I wanted to be a hairdresser, an accountant and a singer at different points. I still want to be a singer now.

2. Where would your dream holiday be?

A cross between relaxing and planned activities. I like knowing what I’m doing but I also like flexibility. Ideally somewhere not too hot as I’m not the biggest fan of heat. I’ve never been out of New Zealand so I don’t have much to go on and know where the best holiday spots are.

3. Do you believe in soul mates?

Yes and no. I don’t necessarily believe there is only one perfect person for everyone but I believe everything happens for a reason and sometimes when you meet a person it feels like the two of you are meant to be and everything clicks and you feel incredibly comfortable around them.

4. What would your superhero name be?

A play on my name, perhaps Coco Chanelle or Chanelle No. 5. I could have a huge ‘5’ on my cape!

5. If you could only use one makeup product what would it be?

Definitely lipstick! I love my bold, bright colours and couldn’t give them up.

6. What is your favourite film?

I don’t have a favourite that I always quote or re-watch constantly but Grease and Titanic stand out.

7. What shoe size are you?

Normally around a NZ size 8 which is the equivalent of a UK 6 or a European 38/39. My feet are short but they wide which makes shoe shopping difficult.

8. How do you feel right now, in this moment?

Confused. Tired. Stressed. In that order.

9. Favourite pizza topping?

Pepperoni.

10. What age were you when you knew Santa wasn’t real?

I always thought Santa was real and thought he stopped coming once you were a teenager. I like to think he is anyway, a little part of me wants him to be.

11. Can you dance?

I can. I’ve got good rhythm and can spend all night dancing. Professionally no, but made up moves – totally!

The Liebster Award

Over the past week or so I have been nominated for a few different tags and awards by my fellow bloggers and I am always incredibly grateful for any nominations I receive. Over the next two weeks I will get round to accepting all of them. I have been nominated for a few Liebster Awards in the past (1), (2), (3), (4) and I have linked them all if you’d like to have a read. Thank you so much to Dannii for nominating me for this one!

Dannii’s Questions:

1. What city or town do you currently live in?

I’m pretty sure I’ve never answered this question before because I don’t think any of you would have heard of it. I live in a city called Rotorua in New Zealand.

2. How old are you?

I turned 21 in January.

3. What is currently your favourite makeup or beauty item?

Either The Body Shop’s Shea Body Whip which I apply before I get dressed, Asia lipstick by Rimmel or Max Factor’s Excess Shimmer in Copper.

4. What has been your highlight of 2016 so far?

Probably my birthday! It was such a special day and my mum really surprised me by covering the table and lounge with presents and balloons.

5. What is your favourite holiday destination and why?

I have never been out of New Zealand before so I don’t have one. I want to go to The UK but apart from that I don’t really have anywhere else on my list at the moment.

6. Name 5 things on your bucket list?

1. Visit The UK (I’m obsessed)
2. See Kylie Minogue in concert
3. Get my license
4. Be a contestant on The Chase
5. Record an album

7. What would be your dream job?

Easy, singer! I’ve wanted to be a singer since I was 10 years old. I know so many people say that when they’re young but I genuinely have this love and passion for music that I don’t have for anything else. It’s silly, but I get emotional thinking about it. Getting to sing for a living would be a dream come true! I used to want to be an accountant, a hairdresser and even a makeup artist at one point.

8. Name your 3 favourite songs at the moment?

1. Zayn – Pillowtalk
2. Jessica Agombar – Cookie Cutter
3. Delta Goodrem – Wings (it’s still a tune!)

9. What is your favourite food?

Chips… fries or potato chips I don’t mind. I don’t like them as much as I used to though but I don’t have any other favourites.

10. If you won a large amount of money, what would you spend it on?

I’d be very sensible and save most of it. In saying that I would hop straight on a plane to England and start exploring. A lot of it would probably be spent on concerts and gigs and makeup too. Oops.

Awards, Awards

I’ve mentioned numerous times how humbled and appreciative I am of any award I receive. This week I have been nominated for two separate awards but I’ve combined the both of them in this post.

First up is the Premio Dardos Award which I was nominated for by Emwills Eleven. I’m going to be honest and admit I’m not quite sure how to accept this award and who to pass it on to. The award recognises cultural, ethical, literary and personal values transmitted in the form of creative and original writing. If this sounds like you or your blog consider yourself nominated! I didn’t want to not accept the award and mention the lovely person who nominated me.

Next is a Liebster Award and I was nominated for this one by Charlie over at Rose Notes.

Charlie’s Questions:

1. If you could choose one book to be made into a film, what book what you pick?

I honestly have no idea… perhaps an autobiography by one of my favourite musicians?

2.  If you were able to travel in time, where would you go?

In some ways I’d like to go back to my childhood and relive that. I think I’d appreciate it much more second time round.

3. What is the nicest compliment you’ve received?

People who say I’m beautiful/pretty/cute never fail to make my day!

4. Name three of your pet peeves?

• People who try to board public transport before passengers have the chance to get off.
• Incorrect use of spelling, grammar and homonyms.
• Not using manners like please and thank you.

5. If you met a ghost how would you react?

I’d be a little freaked out. It would depend on the situation lol.

6. What’s the best joke you know?

I find cheesy jokes and stupid things hilarious but I don’t know that I have one joke that I think is a classic! I used to love this one as a kid: “Doctor Doctor, I can’t get to sleep. Sit on the edge of your bed and you’ll soon drop off.”

7. Who is your favourite cartoon character?

The Simpsons was one of my favourites when I was younger so I’d say Homer.

8. If you were to join a circus, what would you perform?

Something musical/to do with music.

9. If you could be with/talk to anyone right now, who would it be?

One of my closest friends who I haven’t seen for a long time.

10. If a movie was made about your life, who would you want to play you?

As long as it was a redheaded actress I wouldn’t mind 😉

Liebster Number Three

I was nominated for my third (WOW!) Liebster Award by the gorgeous Hayley, author of The Glasgow Girl. I’m honoured she thought of me and as always it’s greatly appreciated! I’m over the 200 follower mark so technically I don’t know if I’m allowed to accept this award but I asked Hayley and she doesn’t mind, I hope the rest of you don’t either! 🙂

Hayley’s Questions:

1. Why did you start your blog?

To help escape boredom while looking for a job and the fact that I can have my own space to talk about what I like and share that with other people.

2. Who are your favourite YouTubers at the moment?

I don’t know if this counts but at the moment I’m loving FitMom. The idea is one 5 minute workout video is posted each day. You work everything from legs, arms and tummies through to cardio and HIIT.

3. Do you prefer tutorials, haul videos or vlogs?

I don’t spend a lot of time watching videos unless it’s an interview or a TV show to catch up on. I might search for a tutorial or haul video if I’m looking for something specific.

4. If you lost all of your makeup in a fire, and had to start off your collection again, which 5 products would you buy first?

I’m not going to pick brands (apart from my moisturiser) because otherwise I’d be here forever trying to decide.

1. Simple moisturiser (best for my sensitive skin)
2. Mascara
3. Foundation
4. Concealer
5. Lipstick

5. Favourite makeup brands at the moment (3 maximum!).

6. If you could visit any country in the world this year where would you go?

England – you must be getting sick of reading about how much I want to travel there by now!

My Christmas Day is in summer haha, umm?

9. What is one of your life ambitions?

My biggest ambition in life is to be happy.

Not sure if this means generally or one of my own.

11. Best drugstore brand?

Pretty sure all the products I own are drugstore brands. I’m going to sit on the fence and say I can’t choose one because a variety of products from different brands can work well together.

Inner Beauty Diva’s questions:

1. Who inspires you with your fashion or makeup?

I don’t have one inspiration in particular. I take inspiration from a number of looks and tailor them to suit me and my personality.

2. What beauty product would you take on vacation and why?

I feel like I should be sensible and say sunblock but I don’t know if that counts! If I could only pick one I’d choose lipstick, it’s my favourite part of my makeup routine.

3. What’s your go to look for winter for going out with friends?

Scarves are always great! They keep you warm and protect you from the harsh winds and if needed, can easily be removed once you’re inside. Their lightweight material makes them easy to pop in your bag for whenever you might need one.

4. What is your favorite holiday movie?

Home Alone 2 never fails to make me laugh!

5. What are you most looking forward to about Christmas?

Giving the gifts I’ve bought for people to them and seeing their faces (hopefully full of joy!) when they open them. Pavlova is a close second!

Liebster Award

Today I woke up to see I have been nominated for a Liebster Award by the lovely www.lifeofpixie.wordpress.com. I have seen these awards featured on various other blogs I follow and to know somebody enjoys my writing and reading my blog fills me with joy.

“Liebster is German and means sweetest, kindest, nicest, dearest, beloved, lovely, kind, pleasant, valued, cute, endearing, and welcome. Isn’t that sweet? Blogging is about building a community and it’s a great way to connect with other bloggers and help spread the word about newer bloggers/blogs.”  I feel this description written by Ashley of www.welovedhere.com sums up the award perfectly.

I think the rules state you have to list 11 facts about yourself so here goes:

I think Marilyn Monroe would be an interesting person to have dinner with.

There a few songs which mean a lot to me lyrically. Someday Soon by Natalie Bassingthwaighte talks about not giving up and going after your dream, Happy by Leona Lewis is all about finding happiness and Dancing With a Broken Heart by Delta Goodrem is about carrying on in life and fighting through any pain you’re feeling.

4. If you had to pick an actress to play you in your own movie who would it be?

A redheaded actress for sure, so perhaps Nicole Kidman, Isla Fisher or Emma Stone.

5. If you could be in a fictional world e.g. Narnia, Middle-Earth, Hogwarts where would you want to go?

Out of those three I like the Harry Potter series the most so I choose Hogwarts.
