Boxing Day Specials

Boxing Day SpecialsHello there! I know Boxing Day was a week and a half ago but last week was busy with my yearly wrap up posts and I haven’t had a chance to share what I purchased in the sales with you until now. Everything I purchased was on sale and I’m proud of the fact I didn’t purchase one beauty product! Let’s get straight into it!

Pink Christmas Tree

1. Typo Mini Christmas Tree – Fluro Pink

I saw this mini Christmas tree as soon I walked into the store and instantly knew I wanted to buy it for my mum. She loves mini things and her and I both love bright colours. We’ve joked how next Christmas we’re just going to put this tree up instead of our big one.

Regular Price: $11.99 | Sale Price: $5.00

2. Marikai Circle Chain Tote – Black

For a little while now I’ve been on the hunt for a new handbag and I found one that fits my criteria. Currently I’ve got a small shoulder bag and I still plan on using that for work but this black tote caught my eye. It’s a good size, has a zip closure which I like (safety first) as well as internal and external pockets. The bag also has a removable cross body strap if you want to wear it hands free. One thing I liked when modelling this bag was how lightweight it felt and the versatility in how you can wear it; hold it in your hand, wear it over your arm, put it on your shoulder or wear it across your body. The metal chains don’t make the bag bulky either.

Regular Price: $74.99 | Sale Price: $49.99

Boxing Day Purchases

3. Kylie Minogue – Kylie Christmas (Deluxe Edition)

I’m not the biggest lover of Christmas music and despite being a HUGE Kylie fan I originally had no intentions to buy this album. What got me interested was the news of a duet with Dannii and the thought of a magical Minogue-tastic Christmas track. I listened to the album on Spotify when it was released and I’m glad to say I was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It’s not cheesy covers that have been done to death, there are still Christmas classics but Kylie has put her spin on each track, old and new. In fact, there are six originals on the album! I can definitely see this being an album I have on repeat during the festive season and I can’t wait to get it out again next Christmas!

Regular Price: $29.99 | Sale Price: $23.99

4. kikki.K Reusable Tote Bag

As you lot already know I’m a sucker for kikki.K and I can’t resist a look everytime I pass by a shop, which unfortunately is not very often. At the back of the shop I saw a sale bin and was rifling through when I found this tote bag. The bag is made of umbrella-like material and is light pink with a cute little fox design. The bag comes in it’s own pouch and I plan on keeping this inside the black handbag mentioned above. This bag will be perfect for shopping and trying to keep bits and pieces dry from the rain.

Regular Price: $12.90 | Sale Price: $6.45

5. kikki.K Minimalist Phone Case

Sad news, last week I noticed a crack in my Lili Price geometric phone case and ended up purchasing this one from kikki.K as a backup. The crack is pretty small and I know it’s there but luckily it’s near one of the corners so it’s not too noticeable. This phone case is from kikki.K’s Minimalist collection which embodies simplicity and lots of black and white which I love. I had actually seen this phone case prior to purchasing my Lili Price one and seriously considered it as an option then. When I saw it again there was something telling me to get it, so I did. The message on the back reads: “Talk, Share, Inspire, Connect, Love” – simple but effective. I feel it relates to me as a blogger and how important it is to appreciate those things in life.

Regular Price: $12.90 | Sale Price: $6.45

I hope you enjoyed seeing everything I picked up! As you can see I didn’t go overboard in the sales but I still got some good bargains. Let me know what you managed to pick up!

December Favourites

December FavouritesI can’t believe this is my last monthly favourites for 2015 and in a few days it will be 2016! I have some really exciting things to share with you this month including a few new discoveries and a couple of beauty products I’ve had for a while but really taken advantage of in December. I will also be doing a Yearly Favourites post which goes up tomorrow and compiles all the best products and highlights from 2015.

1. Philips Moisture Protect Hair Straightener – If you saw yesterday’s post, What I Got For Christmas, you’ll know I purchased this hair straightener earlier in the month as a present to myself. I absolutely love the rose gold and white and how quick and easy this straightens my hair. I got a really good deal on this straightener; originally it was $239.99 and the day I got it I paid $109.99.

2. Rimmel Lasting Finish Lipstick in 107 – This is about the third post this lipstick has featured in this month so I will keep things brief. I wanted to include this lipstick for the simple fact I used it in my Christmas Makeup Menu.

3. Dainty Doll Powder Blush in 001 Hippy Shake – I have had this blush for over a year now and I still haven’t gotten over how beautiful it is. Hippy Shake is a pale lilac colour designed for very fair skin tones. I have also read about bloggers with darker skin tones who have used this shade as a highlighter. When applied this blush gives a nice, subtle glow to my skin and it’s hard to go overboard with this colour. The formula is also amazing, it’s not too powdery and is so easy to apply whether you’re using your fingers or a brush.

4. Real Techniques Blush Brush – The blush brush is one of four Real Techniques brushes I purchased last month and mentioned in my HUGE Me Spree. After using all of the brushes for the past few weeks, I think this is my favourite. The bristles are especially soft and despite the size of the head I like how this applies product. I have been using it with the Dainty Doll blush mentioned above and it is a winning combination!

5. The Body Shop Shea Hand Cream – The Body Shop’s Almond Hand & Nail cream featured in my October Favourites but I love this shea one even more! The packaging feels slightly more robust and less likely to split or break. I like how quickly this hand cream soaks in too. I’ve been applying this at night before bed and my hands feel nice and soft when I wake up in the morning.

6. Marcus Butler – Over the past 6-8 months I have been getting into different vloggers on YouTube. Lily Pebbles is my absolute favourite but this month I discovered Marcus Butler. I saw Marcus in one of Jim Chapman’s videos and instantly started browsing through his channel. I really like the content Marcus uploads, there’s funny videos, challenges, collabs and daily vlogs. His videos are entertaining and so easy to watch. Click here to be taken to Marcus’ YouTube Channel.

December Spotify Playlist – #KylieChristmas

There haven’t been any new tracks I’ve had on repeat in December so I’ve decided to share the #KylieChristmas playlist I made for a competition. I’m not a huge fan of Christmas music but I really enjoyed getting into the Christmas spirit with this playlist. If you’re still feeling festive, take a listen!

That’s all for this month, be sure to let me know what you’ve been loving!

April Favourites

April FavouritesIt seems like only yesterday that I was typing up my last monthly favourites post for you all! On a whole though, this month has been really good and I’ve found some lovely new things to talk about and share with you. Let’s jump straight in!

April Favourites 1. Kylie At Home Sienna Duvet Cover – By now I’m sure you know how big a fan I am of The Minogues and this month I treated myself to a little Easter present (who needs chocolate?) and purchased a Kylie At Home Duvet. I’ve known Kylie has had bedding for years but the price had always put me off. I started browsing online and saw Debenhams were having a huge sale. I’d never ordered from Debenhams before but the service was amazing, the item arrived quickly and because I’d spent over £50 delivery was free.

Kylie Sienna Duvet(Image not my own)

Sienna is a monochrome striped block design and features sequins in the entire middle block. In real life the white looks slightly creamier but in no way does that detract from the ombré effect. This duvet feels so glamourous and luxurious and is a bit more grown up than what I had before.

2. Mickey Mouse Plasters – You might think plasters are a weird thing to include in a favourites post but these ones are pretty cool! These plasters can be bought on their own or you can buy a collector’s tin to keep them in. I have a bit of a funny story about these. I was in the supermarket with a friend one day and if you bought two boxes of Mickey Mouse plasters you got a free tin. Naturally we wanted to buy matching plasters but there was only one tin left so I let her have it. For months I was on the hunt for a tin and one day she turned up at my house with one. The designs on these plasters are so cute and they have such good sticking power.

3. Aura Jar Candle Vanilla Creme – I previously mentioned this candle in my April Lifestyle Update and after lighting it a few more times I love it even more! The candle doesn’t give off too much of a scent while it’s lit but every time I walk into my room I’m greeted with a lovely waft of vanilla.

30 Days of Yoga4. Yoga With Adriene – 30 Days of Yoga – If you had told me at the start of the year I would be doing yoga and enjoying it I would be staring at you with a funny look on my face. Yoga has been a real constant this month and I’ve enjoyed taking the time out each day for myself (except when I had no internet for a few days and had to play catch up). I genuinely think doing this has made me calmer and I really surprised myself with how much energy I had and the moves weren’t as hard as I thought. If you’re a complete yoga newbie like me give this a go!

Lily Pebbles5. Lily Pebbles – There’s one vlogger whose videos I’ve been turning to and watching constantly this month and that’s Lily Pebbles. I can’t remember how I stumbled onto Lily’s channel but the first video I saw was her March Favourites with her boyfriend Rich. (#cutecouplealert) Ever since, I’ve been hooked and trawling through her YouTube channel to find more videos to watch. What I like about Lily is that she’s very natural in front of the camera and always has interesting tips in her beauty videos.

That’s all for this month, be sure to let me know what you’ve been loving!

January Favourites

January FavouritesCan you believe how fast this month has gone?!… January’s almost over already! I have replaced my 30 Days To Love series with a Monthly Favourites series instead. Quite a lot of other bloggers do this already and I wanted to join in because it looks like a lot of fun. I will not only be showing you my favourite beauty products but what I’m reading, listening to and anything else that fits into ‘favourites’.

Here’s the first monthly installment:

OPI - It's Frosty OutsideOPI Nail Polish (It’s Frosty Outside) – This frosted silver is so icy it’s hot! I’ve only had this nail polish for a month and I’ve already worn it on two occasions. The polish doesn’t take long to dry at all (wait 10 minutes in between coats) and it’s recommended not to finish with a top coat as it takes away from the liquid sand effect. I can definitely see myself getting through this 3.75ml bottle in no time at all!

Revlon Fire & IceRevlon Lipstick (Fire & Ice) – This shade has easily become my favourite in my small but frequented lipstick collection. Fire & Ice has a crème finish as opposed to a matte one, meaning a waxier formula and providing moisture while still delivering high pigment colour. I can wear this lipstick all night without having to reapply it and it doesn’t dry out my lips. This shade of red is perfect for all skin types as it incorporates blue and yellow undertones.

Xceseri ringsXcesri Rings – These three rings can be worn altogether or separately and they are so dainty and elegant. Being midi rings, I generally wear the two plain gold bands on my knuckles and the jeweled band on my ring finger.

Zest! Weekend pull on jeansZest! Weekend Pull On Jeans – These jeans feature front mock pockets, back patch pockets, a mock fly and a blasting and whiskering surface effect. They are incredibly comfy and the elastic waist is perfect for a curvy girl like me. The colour of the denim is also really nice, I don’t like pale, stonewash blues and these are the perfect mid denim blue.

FitMomFitMom – I talked briefly about FitMom in Thursday’s Liebster Award post *here* and I really do love the concept behind the project. It doesn’t matter what your fitness level is, beginner, intermediate or advanced, these workouts are doable. What I find useful about this regime is that the founder, Nicola, shows you how to do each move and tells you how long to do each move for or how many reps (reps = repetition) you need to do. Each workout only takes 5 minutes – even better!

January has seen some of my favourite artists release new singles including Ellie Goulding, Kelly Clarkson and Kylie Minogue.

Love Me Like You DoHeartbeat SongRight Here Right Now

1. Ellie Goulding – Love Me Like You Do

2. Kelly Clarkson – Heartbeat Song

3. Giorgio Moroder feat. Kylie Minogue – Right Here, Right Now

What are you loving this month?

Day 09 – A song that makes you hopeful

From the very first moment I heard this song I just knew there was something special about it. Despite the lyrics sounding quite sad and poignant the track influences me in a positive way. It’s about knowing that everything is going to be okay and will work out ‘fine’ (pardon the pun). Incorporating 90s house and a rousing theme of empowerment this track will be sure to brighten your day.

Get To Know Me: Part 2

In the second installment of my ‘Get To Know Me’ feature I thought I’d talk about my biggest passion – music. Music really is my life, most of my money is spent on CDs as I prefer a physical copy of an album rather than a download from iTunes. I enjoy holding the album in my hands and reading the liner notes and thank yous.

I’ve loved music ever since I can remember. When I was a little girl I always listened to cassettes or the radio, there was always music playing in our house. I don’t remember having any major influences at such a young age but Shania Twain’s ‘Come On Over’ has always been a favourite album of mine.

I became serious about singing and wanting to be a singer when I was 10 years old. Although I’ve had approximately one singing lesson in my life, my ultimate dream is to move to the UK and become a singer. I’m my own teacher and sing for a couple of hours most days. I’d also love to do something in music behind the scenes.

A turning point was when I rediscovered Steps. I was only a few years old when they were around the first time and couldn’t really comprehend the fangirl life. Their music is often described as cheesy pop but the songs (and dance routines) are classic! For me music represents happiness and Steps are a huge part of that.

I won’t go into detail about all the musicians I listen to but I’ll give you a rundown of my favourites:

  • Steps
  • The Saturdays
  • Kylie Minogue
  • Dannii Minogue
  • Shane Filan/Westlife
  • Ellie Goulding
  • Girls Aloud
  • Shania Twain
  • Delta Goodrem
  • Pixie Lott
  • Rita Ora
  • Lawson

Are there are any artists you think I should check out?
