I Wish You a Merry Christmas! πŸŽ„πŸŽ…

merry-christmas-2016

There’s only two more sleeps left until Christmas! Part of me is more excited this year as I’ve enjoyed buying and wrapping my presents and I can’t wait to see the reaction on people’s faces when they open my gifts. I like to buy to suit each person and try and make gifts personal in some way. For example, my mum and I love cryptic crosswords so I plan to hide her gifts and give her clues to help her find them. It’s fun and shows thought.

I’m so excited to be able to have someone special to celebrate with this year; my boyfriend! Relationships are still kind of new to me and at times I feel like there’s things I don’t know but that’s part of it and so far everything has been positive. All I can do is be myself and as long as we’re happy that’s what counts. It’s been almost four months since we first met and that time has gone so quickly.

Working in retail, I know I will make the most of my time off because the day after Christmas Day sends shoppers crazy! I have a short break before Christmas so I’ll be preparing myself for the madness haha. My brother is also coming down to spend Christmas with us and we’re off to my aunt’s on the actual day itself.

I hope you all have a wonderful Christmas and enjoy celebrating and spending time with your family and loved ones! I also want to thank you for the support for my blog this year! In June, we reached the two year mark and it’s weird to think this little space on the internet will turn three in 2017. Your support and kind words never fail to make me smile and I’m so proud of how much I’ve been able to grow as a blogger and a person as a result.

I will be back next week with a few end of the year posts but until then, Merry Christmas!

Taking a Break…

taking-a-break

Hi everyone!

First, let me apologise for no ‘proper’ post today. I’m sure you can already guess from the title what this post will be about. Since August, the past three months have been absolutely crazy and I’ve had so much going on – in a good way. I don’t feel like my blog or my posts have suffered but I’m someone who always likes to put everything into whatever they do and I don’t want to write posts if they don’t excite me or I don’t feel like what I’m sharing is relevant. Rather than write something I’m not happy with I’d prefer to have a short break and come back feeling refreshed with new ideas.

When I plan my posts for the month, the dates tend to fill up pretty quickly. I do re-evaluate throughout the month and move things slightly if needed but there are a couple of October dates that I didn’t have anything planned for. Technically today, (Friday the 21st) was one of those days but you’re getting a post to explain the break. I post Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays but next Wednesday, October 26 there won’t be a post. I will still be publishing my Project Pan posts for the two remaining Mondays in the month and my October Favourites will be posted on the 28th. Really, you’re only missing one post!

Be sure to catch up on this week’s posts if you haven’t already:

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and I’ll see you next week!

Quick Catch Up

First off, let me apologise for not having a proper blog post for you today! I had a few options to run with but I didn’t want them to be half-hearted so I’ve put them off until next week. Today, I want to address a few things and let you know what I’ve been up to this crazy, busy week!

As some of you might know, on Sunday I flew up to stay with my brother for a few days and it was my first ever time flying by myself. I wasn’t scared to do it at all and I’m really proud of myself because a couple of years ago, I never would have done that. The flight is only 40 minutes so it was nice and quick and it made sense for me to fly up because I couldn’t drive and flying is so much quicker than driving. My brother took some time off work and the main reason I flew up was to go and see Alan Carr live. I’m so glad I went, Alan was hilarious and he was also my first comedy show.

Everyday we did something different and it was nice to explore and just wander around as we pleased. I also got to go on a train for the first time which was a lot of fun and I definitely reached my quota of 10,000 steps a day with all the walking we did! I did some shopping, not a lot because I wanted everything to fit in my suitcase and you will be able to see what I bought next week. It was good to get away for a few days and I’m looking forward to it again when I go up for the Ellie Goulding concert in October.

I’m sorry I wasn’t as active at reading posts and commenting as I usually am but I didn’t want to have my head buried in my phone all the time. I wanted to experience things and just take time out from technology. I will have a busy weekend getting up to speed and organising next week’s posts no doubt!

Some more exciting news is that I now have a part-time job. It’s not as many hours as I worked before but who knows where it could lead to and it’s good to be out there meeting people and getting experience. I’ve got something new to focus on and everyone I’ve met seems really lovely. I had my first day on Thursday (yesterday).

I hope you’ve all had a lovely week and I hope you enjoy your weekend!

[CLOSED] EXCITING Blog Giveaway!!!

EXCITING Blog Giveaway!!!Happy Friday lovelies! Wednesday marked my two year blogging anniversary and I cannot believe how quick that time has gone! I want to say the biggest thank you to everyone who reads the blog and leaves comments and for all the support and encouragement I receive. I genuinely did not imagine that I could come across such kind, thoughtful, like-minded people.

I have wanted to do a blog giveaway for a while now. I wanted to do this giveaway because two years posting on Chanelle Hayley feels like such a milestone and I am so proud of how far I’ve come; my confidence has grown and my writing style has improved so much. I apologise for this not being the most extravagant giveaway but I hope whoever wins enjoys this prize as much as I will enjoy running the giveaway.

The Prize:

Giveaway PrizeThere will be ONE winner who will receive the following:

1. Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Lovesick. Fuchsia is my favourite lip colour to rock and I believe you can’t go far wrong with one in your collection!

2. Maybelline New York Luminizing Eyeshadow, Caffeine Rush. This little palette is full of neutral tones and these shades can all be used separately or together to create a gorgeous eye look. These shades remind me of my favourite eyeshadow palette, ‘The Nudes’ also by Maybelline.

3.Β  Geoskincare individual face masks: 1 x Deep Pore Cleansing masque, 1 x Hydrating masque and 1 x Radiance Lifting masque.

4. Neutrogena Naturals lip balm. I have been getting into the habit of applying lip balm every night before I go to bed and it really does make a difference. I wake up with smooth lips and lipstick glides on like a dream. This one winds up which is good if you’re all about hygiene and contains Vitamin E to nourish and soothe.

5. Makeup Revolution mono eyeshadows. In my recent Feel Unique & Makeup Revolution Haul I picked up two of Makeup Revolutions mono eyeshadows. I selected the shades I Need You (bronze/brown) and Promised Land (rose gold).

6. Zoella Beauty Tutti Fruity Beauty Pouch. I couldn’t get over how adorable this pouch is so I picked up an extra with this giveaway in mind when I made my Feel Unique order.

7. The Body Shop Shea hand cream. Hand cream is one of the essential products in my beauty routine and this one from The Body Shop is a personal favourite. Shea is such a beautiful scent and not too strong if you prefer something more subtle.

8. Pantene Pro-V 3 Minute Miracle Treatment. One thing that always makes me feel confident is a good hair day. I saw this product and instantly thought it would be perfect to include in this giveaway!

Two Year Blogging Anniversary!

Two Year Blogging Anniversary!Hi lovelies! As you can tell from the title of this post, today is a big milestone for my blog; it turns two years old!!! It’s hard to believe I wrote and published my first post on the 15th of June 2014 – it still feels like yesterday (almost). I’m sure a lot of bloggers say the same, but that time has zoomed past and it’s a proud feeling to still be here two years on.

I wanted to write this post today to thank you all for your support and all the kind words I have received over the last 731 days. I can genuinely say this blog would be nothing without the readers and I am incredibly thankful for all the likes, comments, followers and most importantly the friends I have made. I mentioned in my One Year Blogversary post that when I started this blog I didn’t have any expectations and I wanted to enjoy blogging and see where it takes me. I didn’t and still don’t have a certain amount of followers I’d like to get to or put pressure on myself to be a certain type of blogger. While I am certain where my blog sits and what I like to write about, I like the creativity and the what if element that blogging brings. I am me and these posts are written in the hope that someone else can enjoy them, find them entertaining and understand where I’m coming from. One of the most important tips is to write a blog you’d like to read because your passion will shine through. My posts may not always be seen or be the most popular but I know they are honest and 100% me.

All I really wanted to say with this post is the biggest thank you from the bottom of my heart! This blog has become a huge part of my life and I’d miss the daily interaction if I was without it. I don’t quite know where this blogging journey will take me next but it means the world that you choose to join me for the ride!

To celebrate two years of posting and reaching this milestone, I will be running a giveaway beginning Friday, June 17. It is my first giveaway so make sure you check back on Friday to see how you can enter and be in with the chance to win some special goodies I have put together!

Lots of love,

Happy New Year + Blog Updates

Happy New YearHappy New Year readers! How did you bring 2016 in? Were you partying the night away, sipping on champagne or perhaps tucked up at home like I was? However you celebrated be sure to let us know in the comments!

2015 was my first full year blogging and I can’t really justify saying it was my best year yet (although it was stats and numbers wise) but if it’s a sign of what’s to come this year I’m really excited! I like routine and having everything planned out but occasionally I like to switch things up and feel like a change.

Hey It’s Okay…

I’m always thinking of ways to improve my blog and potential segments I could write. While I adore beauty and writing about it, I also enjoy reading more personal posts and I’ve come up with a way to incorporate that for the next year. I will be running a monthly segment, Hey It’s Okay… which will talk about “issues” and things that shape me and my personality ranging from insecurities to life decisions I have made. I don’t want to spoil it by revealing too much but the first post in the series will be up on January 11th and you will get the gist once you see it. I aim to post Hey It’s Okay… towards the beginning of the month and I hope you’re looking forward to it as much as I am.

Meet the Blogger – Should It Stay?

Without a doubt, my ‘Meet the Blogger’ posts are some of the most successful but for the past few months I’ve been undecided if I want to continue doing them. It’s not that I don’t want to or don’t enjoy them but I feel like I wouldn’t be doing them for the right reasons. There’s been occasions where people want to get their name out there and you have no clue who they are. They have never visited your blog and it feels like you’re doing them a favour by featuring them. I can genuinely say 99.9% of bloggers I have featured I follow. If I don’t ‘know’ the blogger being interviewed to me that’s not honest and I don’t think it’s fair just for the sake of having a post. When I first started the segment I wanted people to find and connect with other bloggers and it has done that so please don’t think I’m being negative or bitchy. You sometimes get to a point where you have to stop giving and I feel like I’m at that point. What do you think, do you want ‘Meet the Blogger’ to stay?

Posting Schedule

Following on from that, if I didn’t do ‘Meet the Blogger’ anymore would you rather I went down to two posts a week and changed the days or still posted three days a week? Please do let me know your preferences for days and times as I want you to be able to read when it suits you.

I’d love to hear any other thoughts or suggestions you may have in the comments below, don’t be shy!

New Layout and Week Off

Hi everyone!

I haven’t posted on a Sunday in forever! I just wanted to quickly let you know that over this past weekend I have changed the theme of the blog and created a new header. I have kept the same base colours: purple, grey, black and white but I felt like a change and feel the new theme is fresher and more modern. Be sure to have a look and let me know what you think!

Also, this week I have decided to take a break from posting. I have been a bit stressed lately and it’s starting to take it’s toll on my body. Wednesday’s Meet the Blogger post will still be up as planned but my next post after that will be Monday 26 October. I will still be online everyday to catch up on comments and all of your posts.

Have a lovely week everyone!

Q&A Postponed

Q&A PostponedHi everyone! Hope you’ve had a good week! I know I promised you the answers to my Q&A today but unfortunately they’re not ready…

Being honest, it’s a mixture of laziness/family illness. I haven’t got around to typing up the post to the standard I would like and don’t want to hit publish until I’m ready. I decided the best thing to do would be wait until next week so I can get it all ready over the weekend.

This also gives you a chance to submit any final questions you may have for me:

  1. Leave a comment below or on the original Ask Me Anything post with your question.
  2. Email your questions to chanelleblogs@gmail.com.

Sorry for the extremely short post today. I hope you all have a lovely weekend and see you Monday!
