7 Deadly Sins of Beauty Tag

Seven Deadly Sins of Beauty TagHappy Friday lovelies! In the two years I’ve been blogging I’ve seen this tag around a lot and I’ve never done it so I thought it was about time I changed that! I saw this tag on Claire’s blog recently and loved the concept and the sound of the questions. Let’s get started!

GREED: What is your most inexpensive beauty item?

I think it must be a white/purple iridescent nail polish I bought a few years back for $2. For the price, it’s a decent polish – not the worst I own by a long shot.

WRATH: What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with?

  • Partly foundation because I’m so pale. Every brand needs to come out with a Fair Ivory shade Γ  la Rimmel’s Match Perfection.
  • My Maybelline Colour Tattoo in the shade Inked In Pink (also known as Pink Gold in The UK). Don’t get me wrong, the colour is beautiful in the pot but I feel it doesn’t translate the same way on my eyelids. The formula isn’t as creamy as everyone talks about, I don’t know whether I got a bad one that has dried up but I don’t reach for it as often as I would like.

GLUTTONY: What are your most delicious beauty products?

The hand cream I’m using at the moment smells like bubblegum. (It’s the Pomegranate Hand & Nail Cream by Olive in case you’re wondering). *LINK*

SLOTH: What beauty product do you neglect due to laziness?

Easy – eyeliner! Times are a changing though, I purchased a dark brown eyeliner from Rimmel a few weeks ago and I’m determined to master how to use it. I’ve used it once so far… It did turn out pretty well though.

PRIDE: What beauty product gives you the most confidence?

Lipstick fo’ sure! In my opinion you can never go wrong with a bold lip! I joke frequently that I should be a lip model because I seem to suit every colour and lipstick always lasts forever on my lips. A close second would be mascara, my bottom lashes are particularly light (almost blonde) and mascara really opens up my eyes.

LUST: What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

Arms/hands, to me they signify strength and protection which signifies masculinity. My hands are small and I love the thought of someone holding my hand, I’m kind of cute and soppy like that. Thoughtfulness also goes a long way.

ENVY: What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

I’d like to try the Urban Decay palettes to see if they’re as good as everyone makes out because I don’t think you can buy them in New Zealand.

That’s all the questions, hope you enjoyed this post and thanks for reading! If you decide to do this tag, leave a link to your post in the comments so I can check it out!

I love your version!! I definitely agree with foundations, they really need to cater for people like us with really pale skin!
So frustrating when the palest ‘ivory’ is actually like orange!

Thanks Claire! One thing I’m going to try (especially heading into Winter over here) is mixing my foundation with moisturiser to create a tinted moisturiser type effect πŸ™‚ x

Oh my, I loved this tag! I think I am going to do it sometime too. The questions are amazing!
I also have a love-hate relationship with foundation. I am not so pale that I struggle to find a shade but what I do struggle with is finding a foundation that I like in terms of how it looks and feels. I am so fussy when it comes to foundation. πŸ˜€ My weaknesses when it comes to the opposite sex are also hands and arms… Especially when their arms and hands show those prominent veins when they pick something up. It’s death. I understand. πŸ˜€ xxx

There are so many foundations out there, it’s hard to know where to begin. It all gets a bit overwhelming doesn’t it? I don’t know what it is about arms and hands, are we weird for finding them attractive haha? Xx

Definitely! It’s especially difficult when buying a drugstore foundation because you don’t get that assistance you do at a counter of a high-end brand. That sometimes makes all the difference.
Maybe we are weird for finding hands and arms attractive but then again we can just be weird together, Chanelle. πŸ˜‚ It could be fun!

Sometimes I wonder if that assistance is always beneficial. I’ve heard lots of people mention they’ve been matched to the wrong shade and I’m sure achieving sales targets are probably involved somewhere. I don’t mean that to sound cynical 😊 I’ve always thought I was a little weird anyway, let’s be weird together! x

You don’t sound cynical. 😊 You are right, actually. Sometimes the service is really brilliant though and then it is much easier than trying to find a foundation yourself.
I really hate it when the employees at a beauty counter are unhelpful though.
Hahaha it sounds like a plan. 😁 xx

I had the Maybelline Tattoo in Inked In Pink and I agree, I think the shimmer in it is very frosty so the texture isn’t that smooth. Have you tried other shades? I like Tough as Taupe and Bad to the Bronze. OR, maybe try out their new Tattoo chubby pencils – I’ve heard those ones are really good and don’t dry out as fast.
I did this tag awhile back, here’s my post:
Although, some of my questions are different from yours. My Gluttony question wasn’t about yummy smelling beauty products! Hmm my most delicious smelling beauty product right now is that Body Shop Brazil Nut Beautifying Oil! I seriously want to LICK myself! πŸ˜†

I’ve got another shade, Barely Branded and that one doesn’t feel as dry but can be a bit patchy to apply. I like to layer that up with a gold shadow over top πŸ™‚ I look forward to checking out your post! I feel the same way after I’ve applied the Brazil Nut body butter.

I’m sure that I own the Pink Gold Maybelline Colour Tattoo and, by the sounds of it, I’ve had a better experience, I’ll have to check though. I do have an inspired makeup look planned, which will make use of that product, so we’ll see how it goes. Interesting tag!
