My First Giveaway!

Hello everyone, I hope you’re well! Sorry if the title of this post is misleading, I’m not hosting a giveaway (yet) but about a month ago I won my FIRST EVER giveaway!!! The lovely Hannah from She Makes It Up was giving away an Urban Decay Matte Revolution lipstick in a shade of your choice. I was lucky enough to be chosen as the winner and selected the shade After Dark.

After Dark is described as a “matte medium-dark berry pink” and it reminds me of MAC Rebel to look at. The colour is gorgeous and I can’t believe I didn’t have something like this in my collection already! The berry tones make it the perfect shade for Autumn/Winter and I love the dark, vampy-ness it brings.

The lipstick feels very expensive and luxurious and I love the purple shiny metal on the inside of the bullet. I also like how the shape is different from that of most traditional lipsticks. The flatness really helps the colour glide onto your lips and makes for easy application. I can’t comment too much on the formula as I only have worn the lipstick once, but so far I am impressed. Urban Decay claim their Matte Revolution lipsticks provide “super creamy texture, insane pigmentation and superior colour dispersion.” Packed with nourishing ingredients and antioxidants including vitamins C and E, this lipstick is truly lovely to wear.

I found that for a matte lipstick After Dark isn’t drying. I wore this to work last Tuesday and it was on for around six hours. Lipstick always stays on my lips well anyway and this was no exception. I did notice it coming off slightly when I ate but it didn’t impact the overall look. I feel like this range from Urban Decay would benefit so many makeup lovers, there are nine available shades from neutrals to brights to deep-dark colours. If matte lipsticks are your favourite or you’re looking for a lipstick that is matte but not drying on your lips definitely give this range a try!

I also want to mention how sweet Hannah was throughout the whole giveaway process. She couldn’t find the lipstick in store so had to order it online and have it sent to her then send it on to me. She kept me updated through everything and direct messaged me an image of the post office receipt when she sent the lipstick which I thought was extremely cute! Thank you so much Hannah!
