Meet the Blogger – Hannah

HannahHi I’m Hannah, I’m 18 years old from South West England and my blog is called Han Speaks. I’m currently in my 1st year studying Childhood Studies at university which I’m finding really interesting. I’m a big music fan and I love nothing more than going to gigs. I’m quite a girly girl because I love clothes and make-up, and I’m also a bit of a foodie and love eating out with my friends and family.

1. When did you begin blogging?

I’ve only started my blog this month for the new year so I’m new to this, but it’s something I’ve wanted to do for a while now.

2. How did you decide on a name for your blog?

My blog isn’t focused on one topic in particular and it’s more about my thoughts of that day, so I wanted a general name to sum this up. ‘Han’ is one of my nicknames so Han Speaks represented what I wanted in the name.

3. What inspired you to start your blog?

It’s something I’ve always thought about but never get round to doing. I’ve just always liked the idea of being able to share your thoughts with others and write about what you’re interested in. At the start of this month, I saw a link to a blog on my Twitter timeline and I thought now would be a good time to start my own.

4. What is your favourite thing about running a blog?

Having the freedom to talk about whatever I want to on that day and for people to be able to respond who like what I’m writing. I like that I can find other blogs through people who follow mine.

5. What are your must read blogs?

As I’ve only just started blogging, I’m still finding blogs that I’m interested in but I’ve found a fair few which I’ve followed so far that I love. Beauty and fashion blogs I love because I’m interested in these, and it’s always good to find new tips and products. I also love general blogs from people like me who just speak about things that make me think or that I can identify with.

6. What do you want to achieve with your blog?

I just want to enjoy the blogging experience, enjoy writing what I want and enjoy reading other people’s blogs. I do want people to be interested in my blog too so any followers and commenters I’m getting I’m really happy about, especially as I’m only just starting out. So I just hope people find what I’m writing engaging and that they can relate to things I talk about, as I love when I can relate to blogs I read.

7. What advice do you have for new bloggers? Tips, pointers etc.

Just write about what you love because that’s where the passion comes from and what will keep it engaging for you. I look around at other blogs for a bit of inspiration, but what I’m writing about comes from what I’m inspired by that day from what I’ve seen around me.

8. What keeps you blogging?

I’m hoping I can keep this going for a long time, and I’ll do this by writing about what I’m passionate about and getting enjoyment from doing it.

Quick fire questions:

9. What was the last song you downloaded or bought?

I rarely download songs now because I tend to just use Spotify, but I did download the new Band Aid single when it was released.

10. If you could invite any three celebrity guests or famous people to a dinner party, who would they be?

Anyone who knows me knows that I’m a fangirl and I love Joe McElderry and Girls Aloud. So I’d have to say Joe then Cheryl Fernandez Versini and Sarah Harding. I think that would be a fun dinner party but I’d be a bit starstruck!

11. Favourite colour?

Purple.

12. What’s your guilty pleasure?

I’m still always listening to music from my childhood like S Club 7 and Spice Girls… such classics!

13. Finish this sentence. I wish…

Everyone I love could be happy because I hate seeing my friends and family feeling down and going through pain.

14. Where else can readers find you online?

15. Lastly, is there anything extra you’d like to mention you haven’t already?

Big thanks to Chanelle for letting me feature on this! I hope I can meet some new bloggers through it, so come and say hi!

Thank you Hannah. If anyone else would like to be featured on Chanelle Hayley in the ‘Meet the Blogger’ section, please contact chanelleblogs@gmail.com.
